Exhibition «We still have the chance to live normal again»

Exhibition «We still have the chance to live normal again»

10/11/24―20/11/24

This project captures the faces and stories of military medical workers who are defending the country on the front line of the war in Ukraine. Through poignant portraits, and written down thoughts, we aim to humanize their experiences, showcasing resilience, courage, and the longing for a normal life again.

During Repower projects, participants are invited to glimpse into a world where normality isn’t just a memory but a tangible aspiration. For those who’ve spent countless days on the front lines, this opportunity to envision a brighter future is a beacon of hope amidst the chaos of war.

In the quiet moment of closed eyes, where we take time to reconnect with our inner selves.

Each portrait tells a story, a testament to a life before the turmoil, a testament to the unwavering resolve that fuels their ongoing battle. Through their own words, etched upon the fabric of their being, they reflect on their past and draw strength from their aspirations for the future.

We wanted to use fabric, an unconventional canvas, as a symbolic gesture of liberation. By avoiding traditional frames, we allow these remarkable individuals to hang free, embodying the spirit of resilience and freedom. With the colors of Ukraine, we pay homage to a nation fighting for normality once more.

*The title of the exhibition is a quote from Iryna ‘Cheka’ Tsybukh, said in January 2024 during the realisation of this project in Sweden.
