CITY DAY EXHIBITION. MUSEUM OF REALITY

CITY DAY EXHIBITION. MUSEUM OF REALITY

02/05/26―28/05/26

The concept of the home front under conditions of full-scale war is relative. For part of society, its very existence is called into question: the war permeates the entirety of the country, altering the sense of security and everyday life. At the same time, for those returning from the front line, the contrast between zones of immediate danger and cities where life continues is felt with particular sharpness. In this sense, the home front can be defined as a space where existence – despite constant threats – remains possible in its continuation.

«City Day Exhibition. Museum of Reality» in its title references the idea of a classic «year-in-review» exhibition, which showcases updated priority practices of interaction between society and the city, which together constitute a kind of «museum of reality». The exhibition proposes viewing the home front as a collection of practices that make life and solidarity possible in conditions of war. The project brings together artworks that capture various aspects of this reality: fundraising initiatives, memorialisation, work with people with disabilities and internally displaced persons, the transformation of urban space, and rehabilitation processes.

The exhibition is supported by the Lviv City Council.
