The Film “Rule of Two Walls” about the activities around the Municipal Art Center on March 2022 was shown at the Tribeca festival in the USA

The film tells about the life of Ukrainian artists during a full-scale war. The director enters the Lviv Municipal Art Center in March 2022 after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. Here he observes the life of Lyana Mytsko, the director of the Municipal Art Center, and gets to know her artist friends who come to the institution. They are trying to create culture despite the war and atrocities in Ukraine.

On June 8, the premiere of the documentary film “The Rule of Two Walls” took place at the Tribeca festival in New York. The film received a special award for human rights.

Impressions from Liana Mytsko (founder of the Lviv Municipal Art Center, concert organizer):

We are on the red carpet of @tribeca 2023 in New York for the presentation of a film about the tragedy and struggle during the war between Russia and Ukraine. The superficial basis of the film is my meetings at @lvivart.center with beautiful artists who stayed or ended up in Lviv in April 2022. Even deeper, meanwhile, is the documentation of the war crimes of m**kals in Ukraine. The rule of two walls. @ruleoftwowallsfilm
After the premiere and speeches, we were not greeted, rather the audience cried and applauded standing up. War is a very crazy reason to get into a big movie. A very cool reason to go to the @tribeca festival in the states and walk the red carpet. But now it is necessary to work at 200%, so that in those tectonic slabs of propaganda, which have been deeply rooted in the world, cut through by emotional gestures, the understanding that the work of our artists, musicians, artists, our true culture, which they have been trying to erase for more than a hundred years – in fact, it is close to the rhythm of the civilized world. We just need to be seen and heard.

Stepan Burban (Palindrome), Bohdana Davidyuk (artist and illustrator), Serhiy Petrov (artist Bob Basset), Kinder Album (artist from Lviv) and Diana Berg (author of the “Shelter” project) also starred in the film.

The film was produced by the Ukrainian company 2Brave Productions in cooperation with American producers Sam Bisby and Stacey Reiss. Hollywood actor Liev Schreiber, who has supported Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war, became the executive producer.
